A very kind benefactor came forward to help Oakley – he is now in his forever home with lots of companions and the medical care he so desperately needed.  Thanks so much to everyone for sharing his profile – YOU HELPED OAKLEY FIND HIS FOREVER HOME!

This wonderful dog has been in shelters for over a year.  Oakley is only about 3 years old & is so very sweet & gentle.  It’s unthinkable that he may not have a chance for a happy life, filled with the love & respect he deserves.  If you or anyone you know can possibly take this boy into your heart & home, you MUST contact Antietam Humane Society in Waynesboro, PA (717-762-9091) RIGHT AWAY!

Sadly, Oakley injured a hind leg recently (possible torn cruciate ligament).  He is still walking & is as happy as ever.  We don’t know yet if surgery is indicated.  Let AHS know that you’re aware he’s injured but you still want to meet him.  If you’re concerned about vet bills, please know that Oakley may be able to be kept comfortable while healing with inexpensive pain medicine & a leg bandage/brace.

Oakley would be thrilled to be a couch potato.  His needs are so simple. Oakley gets along with other dogs & cats, as long as they are friendly towards him.  Because of his weak hips, he needs a home with as few steps as possible.
