Description

Thank you everyone, the beautiful little Pomeranian, Mimi was REUNITED with her family on Sunday morning.  It was obviously a very sad situation, but all involved are most appreciative of all the assistance & messages offered to help find her family.  An update from the wonderful person who found & cared for her is below.  Thanks again.

RIP sweet little Mimi the Pom.

“I would like to thank everyone who helped share this ad across social media outlets and dedicated their time to help. The loss of any life, especially one that seemed to be cherished, is always a sad occasion.
Early this morning the owners were reunited with their pomeranian. It was an extremely emotional situation for them…
The pomeranian was typical of its breed’s personality, with an extra streak of houdini and adventure, having a knack for escaping despite the owners’ best efforts to the contrary.

I originally placed the ad simply to reunite pet and owner, but it became much bigger than that. Mutual feelings of loss and love for our pets united the many people who sent me messages of support, offerings of advice, who helped spread the message or even just viewed the original ad and who had missing pets, in a joint effort that really reflected the good of the world and the power of human spirit.

I’ve been really humbled by everyone’s messages. I wish everyone all the best in their future endeavours and if you have a beloved pet at home, go give it an extra cuddle, a little treat on the side or a pat on the head because as little as they may be, they become a huge part of our lives without us even knowing until they are gone.”

Update 5 August:
“I spoke to the owners properly today.  The dogs was affectionately known as Mimi and she was 1.5-2 years old.  She was part of a loving family with young children and had a penchant for playing with water and sneaking around the house.  Her favourite toy was a squeaky hippo.

My condolences go out to her owners who have also recently lost a member of their family.  After much discussion with their family I have encouraged them to look at animal shelters and Renbury Farm if they wish to once again own an animal.
RIP Mimi <3

Thank you again to everyone who helped.”

*WARNING*:  Images shown are purely for identification purposes, are in no way gorey etc but may be upsetting.

A tan/orange small to medium sized female Pomeranian was found fatally injured on Aplin Road, Bonnyrigg Heights at around 5-6pm, on Saturday 3 August 2013.

After being hit and run by a speeding car, she immediately died of her injuries.  She is at rest, out of harm’s way, near the site of the accident.

This ad is put out to find her owner, as no tag or microchip could be found.  However she was immaculately looked after and was wearing a pink polar fleece dog jumper at the time of her death.

Before calling council for the removal of her body (which cannot be done until Sunday morning, 4 August), I would like to locate her owner and provide details of the car that hit her.  Or if possible allow the owner to collect her body for burial.

Please only contact via email.  Any possible ideas as to who the owner may be would be helpful.  Spam, unnecessary comments etc is not appreciated.

We really appreciate any information, I’m sure many people would prefer knowing what happened to their pet if it went missing, good or bad news.

Please share this little angel’s story to help find her family, by using the social media buttons below.  Thank you.
