RIGEL HAS BEEN FOUND – After 49 days living rough, Rigel is very emaciated, unwell & now in ICU but we are hopeful he can be saved.

Rigel, our 12yo Tonkinese desexed male cat has been missing since June 18th, from Minnett Close Gordon (southern ACT) when in our absence, he was let out and has not been seen since, with the exception of the next day, where he was found in the back yard of the neighbour directly behind us. But they were unaware he was ours and lost, and so they shoed him out into O’Hara Close. He was noted to look terrified and looked like he didn’t know how to climb over the fence.

Rigel and his sister Bella, have been purely indoor cats for their entire 12 years. Sadly, Bella passed away 02/08/17 from the genetic cardiac issues that both of them have.

Rigel is such a friendly and loving cat, he simply loves attention! Given there has been no sightings of him, we are hopeful that he has been taken in by a kind hearted but unsuspecting person who hasn’t received one of the hundreds of flyers we have hand delivered or seen any of the dozens of laminated posters we have put up in the area.

We desperately want him home, reunited with his family, where we can provide him with the necessary treatment to manage his health.

Not only do we miss him terribly, to the point we feel utterly ill to our cores, but we are incredibly stressed at the prospect that his health is at serious risk as he is now well overdue for his veterinary check up for his heart condition.

If anyone can help us locate Rigel and help bring him home, we would be eternally grateful. We are offering a reward for his return, no questions asked, we just need to get him home. We will do whatever it takes to bring him home.

Alternatively, his vet is All Creatures/Greencross at Calwell. He can be dropped off there and we can collect him if for whatever reason if returning him in person is difficult.
